Abstract
In order to investigate the bond performance between steel wire mesh reinforced ECC and concrete, a total of 27 specimens in 9 groups were designed for beam-hinge test. The effects of concrete strength, bonding length, bonding width and interface treatment method on the interfacial bond behavior were studied. The results show that the tested specimens were produced three different failure modes:interface peeling off, steel wire fracture, and concrete splitting, which were mainly caused by different interface treatments. The interfacial bearing capacity of steel wire mesh reinforced ECC and concrete increases with the increase of concrete strength and interface roughness, and it increases by about 70% within the design range. As the interfacial bonding width increases, the interfacial bearing capacity is almost unchanged, while the ultimate bond stress decreases by 35%, from 1.65MPa to 1.04MPa.Within the effective bonding length, the interface bonding length has little effect on the ultimate bond stress, but it has a positive effect on the interfacial bearing capacity.
